Jnius Design, a place where sheet metal is treated as an object of appreciation and art. We do what no other producer has managed before.
Instead of producing sheet metal boxes and components, we have decided to spare this material from the dull traditional treatment in design and manufacturing. We have set out to create artefacts and objects unknown to traditional sheet metal processing. We believe that this is only a start since there is so much more that can be done and we certainly intend to do it in the future.
Winner of Plootu Fennica Award in 2010
Feelings of wander and enjoyment always accompany getting to know our products, as customers invariably try to figure out how the flawless product in their hands was made.
Our product design leaves no seams or traces of assembly. Even the best hand-sewn leather balls have more visible stitches that our metal-ones, even though they have been made out of seemingly inflexible, rigid material.
Almost like in a magician's trick, our balls can be observed very closely, looked at from different angles in the hope they might give away the "secret" of their making. Alas, it is to no avail. The ball never really shares how the last segment is fitted into place.
Such a product is appreciated fully only when held in one's own hands. Feel the cold steel; see the light reflected off the finest polished materials.
Jnius Design is a company that wants to do something different with sheet metal than the usual sheet metal company.
Instead of making sheet metal boxes and components we want to take this material out of these traditional ways of designing and manufacturing like kitchens, elevators, cabinets, machines, cars etc.
Our goal is to design artifacts and objects that are not traditional to make with sheet metal. We still believe many things are possible with different kind of materials and different kind of assembling them.
We have already 20 years of experience inside the sheet metal business.
Take the balls as example. These are things that you would say it is not possible to make with this material. But I managed to do that. Of course it requires some designing testing and re-designing.
You can just enjoy our designs for now and in the future, there are plans to make more different style of objects, so keep looking out for us!
Of course if you would like to contact us directly don't hesitate to send a mail or fill in the form below and we will help you answer your questions about the balls as soon as possible.
The designs are officially patented!
